The SPR’s 36th International Annual conference will be held at the Sunley Conference Centre, Park Campus, University of Northampton, Boughton Green Road, Northampton, NN2 7AL between Friday 7 and Sunday 9 September 2012. We are very pleased to be in Northampton, home to one of the UK’s most energetic and productive parapsychology departments. As always, our very full conference programme will address a broad range of topics, covering both spontaneous cases and laboratory research. Papers range widely in time and space, from views on apparitions in ancient Egypt to the latest research on remote viewing and precognition. Our current president, Richard Broughton, will give an after-dinner talk on Saturday reflecting on his career, including his time at Northampton. In addition to the talks, conferences are a marvellous opportunity to network and share views, and there will be time to socialise over lunch and the regular coffee breaks, not to mention during the President’s drinks reception on Friday evening and Saturday’s conference banquet. Speakers have come from as far afield as Canada, the United States and Australia, making it truly an international event. This year’s conference – marking 130 years of the SPR’s existence – promises to be full of interest, and an unmissable opportunity to learn about the research being conducted at Northampton. Those who attend, whether this is their first conference or their thirty-sixth, can be sure of having both an informative and a very enjoyable time. An application form, and the full programme, are on the website. We look forward to seeing you in Northampton!

Full details of the programme are set out below. The presentation of papers will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and continue (with appropriate breaks) until lunchtime on Sunday. The President’s Drinks Reception will be held before dinner on Friday evening and there will be a formal dinner on Saturday evening.  Wine is included with dinner on Saturday.

Accommodation will be provided in “single”, “double/twin” or “student” rooms.  All delegates may select any of these room types.  If you wish to add an extra night before or after the conference, please contact the SPR Office (not the Sunley Conference Centre) to enquire.
