SPR members and non-members are welcome to attend the 42nd International Annual Conference of the Society for Psychical Research. Submissions of papers for presentation are invited now. Deadline for submissions is 15th June 2018.

Any person may submit a paper for presentation at the conference and papers may be on any aspect of parapsychology or psychical research. The conference welcomes papers covering laboratory testing, spontaneous cases and the analysis of contemporary or historic cases, from any scientific or academic perspective. As always, the conference hopes to reflect a wide range of disciplines and perspectives in psychical research and particularly welcomes papers detailing recent research and new analysis of data and results.

The usual time allocated for each paper, including discussion, will be 30 minutes. Speakers should aim to make papers readily understandable to a non-specialist audience and they should not simply read aloud an article intended for publication. There will be no simultaneous sessions.  Since the conference is a residential one, there will be ample opportunity for informal contact between participants.

The Programme Committee would welcome suggestions for symposia or round-table discussions that could take place outside the time reserved for presentation of papers.

Summaries of proposed papers should reach the Programme Committee by 15th June 2018. These summaries should be single-spaced, single-sided and have a length of 500 to 1000 words (at most two pages).  Electronic submissions are preferred — please use [email protected] for submissions and put “CONFERENCE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION” in the subject of the message.

If absolutely necessary, summaries (marked “SPR Conference”) can be sent to  Conference Abstract Submissions, Society for Psychical Research, 1 Vernon Mews, London, W14 0RL. The full conference programme will be distributed to all members; it will also be available from the SPR office and on our website.

Please note that the conference schedule is 2 pm Friday 21st to 2 pm Sunday 23rd September.   Accommodation and all meals will be available. For prices and registration, the Booking Form will be available shortly.
