Paul Devereux is an author, researcher and lecturer focusing primarily on sacred places, ancient cultures, unusual geophysical phenomena and consciousness studies. He is a research affiliate at the Royal College of Art and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In this talk, he will describe direct encounters of anthropologists with various types of psi phenomena, including instances of apparent post-mortem survival, many of which if not actively suppressed have been allotted a low profile. He will describe the incidence of psi in cultures other than our own, and emphasise the need for fresh thinking, based on recent advances in neuroscientific research, about that hypothesised otherworld beyond the grave. His latest book Sacred Geography is to be published in June.
