The study day will consider the general theme of the future of ghost hunting and how the SPR should adjust its role in light of the large number of amateur groups now involved. Many illustrious scientists brought their expertise to the field in the early days of the SPR but in the current media-driven age where are the scientists now? Who are the ghost hunters? What do they do and why? How can they improve their prospects of catching ghosts in the future? The contributors include several members of the Spontaneous Cases Committee, who will also consider what background training is necessary for investigators. The day will end with a general discussion, including audience participation.
