49th SPR INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE - 2026 Call for Papers
SUBMISSION DEADLINE is 31st August 2026
Celebrating 144 years of the SPR
Conference to be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Bridgefoot, Stratford-Upon-Avon, CV37 6YR, UK
Saturday, 28th November to Sunday, 29th November 2026. Arrival and welcome dinner on Friday, 27th November.
Full details and online registration will follow shortly.
Submissions of papers for presentation are invited now. The submission deadline is 31st August 2026.
Any person may submit a paper for presentation at the conference, and papers may be on any aspect of parapsychology or psychical research. The conference welcomes papers covering laboratory testing, spontaneous cases and the analysis of contemporary or historical cases, from any scientific or academic perspective. As always, the conference hopes to reflect a wide range of disciplines and perspectives in psychical research and particularly welcomes papers detailing recent research and new analysis of data and results.
The usual time allocated for each paper, including discussion, will be 30 minutes. Speakers should aim to make papers readily understandable to a non-specialist audience, and they should not simply read aloud an article intended for publication. There will be no simultaneous sessions. Since the conference is residential, there will be ample opportunity for informal contact between participants attending the live event.
Summaries of proposed papers should reach the Programme Committee by 31st August 2026. These summaries should be single-spaced, single-sided and with a maximum length of 300 words. Abstracts in standard journal form (max. 300 words) should be submitted by email to the address below. The abstract should briefly state the purpose/rationale of the research, the principal results, and the major conclusions. Electronic submissions are preferred via email to [email protected] for submissions, and with “CONFERENCE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION” in the subject of the message. If your presentation is accepted for inclusion in the programme, we may ask you for a fuller abstract for publication. The full conference programme will be distributed to all members; it will also be available from the SPR office and on our website.
Please note that the conference schedule is 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (subject to change) on both Saturday, 28th and Sunday, 29th November. Two nights’ accommodation and all meals will be available, with options for extra nights. For prices and registration, see the notice on the SPR website.
