Caroline Watt recently retired from her position as Koestler Professor at the University of
Edinburgh. Now Emeritus Professor, Caroline was a founder member of the Koestler
Parapsychology Unit, and has previously held the prestigious Perrott-Warrick Senior Researcher
Fellowship. She is an expert in how to apply scientific methods to the study of Psi phenomena in
the laboratory. The evening will be an opportunity to share impressions about the past, present and
future of parapsychology at Edinburgh and beyond.
The evening’s discussion will consist of an interview between Caroline and our two Discussion
Forum Hosts, Ciaran Farrell and TyLean Tuijl, during which questions can be asked by the
attendees. This will be followed by an open session with full audience participation exploring the
themes and ideas arising out of the previous section of the meeting.
SPR Discussion Forums are an opportunity for SPR members to come together and discuss in a
welcoming open forum a chosen topic with a relevant expert in the field of psychical research. They
are above all else an opportunity for members to contribute their views, their own relevant personal
experiences, as well as their theories and opinions on the topic of the evening.
We hope you will be able to join us for what we hope will be a very interesting Discussion
Forum on Zoom on Tuesday the 29th of September at 7.30 pm.
