'Medium' at the Zuckerman Museum of Art

An exhibition, entitled Medium, at the Zuckerman Museum of Art, Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia, USA, will feature recordings from the SPR's archive:

"Highlighting over thirty multimedia works from local and internationally-recognized artists, including Carrie Mae Weems and Susan MacWilliam, Medium features the Zuckerman Museum of Art’s first co-curated exhibition from Teresa Bramlette Reeves and Justin Rabideau. Medium investigates how people experience and communicate with the spirit world, and the role of a go-between — or medium — to guide these explorations. Through objects ranging from 1920s séance transcripts and Cold War-era “bone records,” to Carrie Mae Weems’ seductive and haunting projections, Medium introduces a space to talk about things we don’t truly understand and to experience the impact of history as it lingers in our present.

"Medium is presented in conjunction with a vinyl record, Medium: Paranormal Field Recordings and Composition, 1907-2017.   The audio supplement to the exhibition features sound recordings selected by Ben Coleman, including previously unreleased 'Poltergeist Recordings' from the Society for Psychical Research in the United Kingdom and compositions by Eluvium, CM Von Hausswolff, and Laura Cannell."
