New editor for JSPR

The Journal of the Society for Psychical Research has a new editor.  After 14 years, Professor Chris Roe has stepped down and Dr. David Vernon has taken over from him.

David is a senior lecturer in psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University.  He has published in the Journal and Paranormal Review and presented regularly at the SPR’s conferences.

Chris and David have been working together to ensure a smooth transition, and David has expressed his thanks to Chris for his support while settling in.  David assumes sole responsibility as editor with the January 2018 issue.  Chris remains on the SPR’s Council and will continue to play an active role in the Society’s affairs.

Members owe Chris a huge debt for his able stewardship of the Society’s Journal, which he has edited since the October 2003 number, a total of 58 issues, and they can look forward to its continued success as a major publication in the field of psychical research under David’s editorship.
