'Question Time: Death and the Afterlife', at The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre

The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre in Edinburgh is hosting an event on 5 December which will brings together church/spiritual leaders to discuss what happens (or doesn’t happen) to us after death.

Taking part will be the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Rt Rev Dr Derek Browning; Rev Canon John McLuckie, Vice Provost of St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Palmerston Place; Very Rev Mgr Philip Kerr, Parish Priest of St Patrick’s Parish in the Cowgate; and Mrs Ann Treherne, Chair of the Palmerston Trust, founder of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre and a practising spiritualist medium.

All four panellists share a belief in life after death but the churches they represent have different practices and beliefs about it. The purpose of the event is to explore these differences and answer questions which the audience may pose about survival of death. Chairing the panel will be Rev Stewart Lamont, former broadcaster and journalist, who is a Trustee of the Palmerston Trust and currently locum minister at St Michael’s Church, Slateford.
