Consciousness Studies Task Force

Dr Shawn Rubin has written: I am pleased to announce the creation of the Consciousness Studies Task Force within Division 32: Society of Humanistic Psychology [EXTERNAL LINK], of the American Psychological Association (APA). This new initiative aims to cultivate a vibrant, interdisciplinary community of researchers, clinicians, scholars and experiencers dedicated to advancing the study of consciousness and exceptional experiences.

We welcome members whose expertise or curiosity touches on areas such as psychedelic science and therapies, near-death experiences, past-life memories, extrasensory perception (telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, retrocognition & psychokinesis), anomalous healing, mediumship, out-of-body experiences, synchronicities, mystical experiences, apparitions, occult and shamanic studies, ecstatic dance/movement, erotic transcendence, and disclosures of contact with non-human intelligences, unidentified anomalous phenomena, and ontological shock.

I invite you to join us in this effort to foster dialogue, collaboration, and scholarly advancement at the intersection of exceptional experience research, cutting-edge clinical applications, and the rich tradition of humanistic psychology within the APA.
