Caroline Watt is a Scottish psychologist who became a founder member of the University of Edinburgh's Koestler Parapsychology Unit in 1986, and was the second holder of the Koestler Chair of Parapsychology until 2024. She has been a member of the Society for Psychical Research since 1986. Now Emeritus Professor of Parapsychology, she has made contributions to understanding psi from both a proponent and sceptic angle, with an emphasis on improving methodological rigour.
Caroline was elected as President of the Society in June 2025. She is also a member of the SPR’s Research Grants Committee and, as President of the Society, chairs the Editorial Board of the JSPR. For further information, please visit her Psi Encyclopedia entry.
